Default Wierd CEL. Wont start sometimes

I need some advice. My 92 civic lx auto, that im gettin back on the road is giving me a headache.

Usually she starts up without a problem. Sometimes shes slow to start. But occasionally the CEL doesnt go off like it should and the car wont start she just keeps cranking. Today i found out she doesnt send gas while shes having that problem.

The CEL stays on while its cranking. But when i hook up a jumper wire to check the CEL the light doesnt blink. I got aggravated at that today and unhooked the jumper and just sat there with the key in II position. When all of a sudden i heard a click sound from the fuse area and the CEL went off and the fuel pump kicked on. So i turned the key and she fired right up like nothing ever happened.

What should I be looking at here?

Check the main relay, they are a common problem on these cars, a lot of the time a solder joint goes bad, and it only works intermitently

i dont know exactly where it could have failed, but the easyest thing would be to swap out a good one and see if that solves your problem, if you cant to that, open it up, and look for any poor solder connections.
