Motor swap
I've been looking up motors and it seems the ZC DOHC is a decent and easy swap for a 89 Honda civic hatch.. Is this true.. Are they good motors or would it be better to put a LS in the civic hatch.. I want to run 13's... I was thinking for now a ZC motor,Intake Manifold,Header,Intake,Exhaust,GSR or Type R Computer, Somekinda good tranny dunno?, Racing Flywheel, Racing Clutch... What would it run in a quarter mile??? would it be good times or what.. Any input on the ZC motors are they nice built upp.. What is needed for this swap??
13's with an h22 stock is feasable also. the dohc sc swap is a nice easy swap. as long as your have mpfi you will have no problems. the dohc zc transmission is also a nice transmission. the 1-5 gearing is very close in comparison to an si tranny. but a zc 3-5/si 1-2 and si final will own.there was a link i was looking at last week about a 13 sec n/a carbed dohc zc with no bottom end mods. it can be a potent motor but depending on your finances you might want to consider the ls. the ls in the long run will be cheaper to get into the 13's. i however am a d-series fanatic and will take a d15 over an ls unless i find an ls for less than $100
