94' hatch h22a swap?
hi im new here so i have a question to ask. i am going to buy a 94 civic hatchback and i am wanting a lot of power out of it. engine swap and turbo setup for sure. plus other mods. the thing is i dont know which engine would be the best. ive heard great things about the h22a but i dont know if it will fit in my car. heard a lot about the b series also. also im curious if the f20 would fit (s2000). i just need a starting point which would be the engine then i can do great things. i want to have one mean civic when it hits the streets.

first of all welcome to the forum. you will find alot of your questions answered by using THE SEARCH BUTTON
but since i'm a nice guy, i'll go ahead and answer your question.
if you go b-series swap in your 94 civic hatch it will be an easier swap because it is a straight drop. when you buy a complete swap, they will come w/ everything you need. but ofcourse you will need to wire your vtec and knock sensor if you bought a vtec motor.
H22 in a hatch is also a great idea but alot of work. you will need to buy aftermarket mounts which hasport.com sells, but they are not cheap. you will also need to remove your passenger side chassis bracket where the tranny mount bolts up to.
F20c motor will not fit in your car due to the fact that it is a rear wheel drive. your civic is made for a front wheel drive tranny. unless you modifiy your car in order to run a rear wheel drive tranny / motor, it is impossible
so in conclusion, i think you will be happy w/ a b-series swap. it is a great motor, and also great if you are barely getting into hondas
