Default B16a G1 or D15b-VETC?

I'm planning on doing an engine swap on a 1992 honda civic dx 5-speed....im looking at either a b16a g1 or the d15b-vetc. I was wondering as far as the B-motor if i would need to modify or buy motor mounts, from what ive gatherd so far i will need of course the motor, tranny, ecu, wiring harness, shift linkage kit and axles...and im guess from an integra or del-sol, not sure on the years...and since the b16a G1 was built 89-91 if i'll need anything eles.As far as the d15b-vetc...im guess this should be a direct bolt in since the car already runs a d-series motor and of course changing the ecu and harness, but will everything eles work or do i need other things for the d-swap? the reason its between the B and a D series is depending on how har the b swap is and if i can find a shop i can do it myself, or the d series if i have to pay to have it put in...the b16a g1 costs $1450 + axles + sift linkage kit + freight and whatever eles, and the d15b-vtec runs $750 + freight + labor + whatever eles...i'll have bout $2,000 give or take a few to complete the swap....any suggestions, info, or advise on this subject would be greatly appreciated....and as of right now......i have nothing to drive : ) Thanks

Word to the wise.. you have OBD1.. the B16a is OBD0.. you would have to spaw the injectors, distibutor, and atl... plus you would have to get either a OBD1 to OBD0 connector to conect the ECU.. or get an OBD1 ecu for the B16a.. plus having a shop install it will be costly so i would figure that in to your budget.. the JDM D15bs are strong and an easier swap none the less.. it all gose in the what you really want to do..

Hey i have a B16A G2 swap in my 94 ex. I had to get motor mounts, but i found them off of a four door civic in a junkyard. The axles have to come out of a 94+ integra or a 93-97 del sol, both DOHC!!! I didnt have to change the dizzy or the alternator or injectors or anything like that. And the shift linkage has to be off a 94+ integra also. The company i bought mine from sent me the wrong shift linkage so i had to cut it apart and add a section on to it to make it long enough. I hope this helps alittle and good luck man.

hey sleeper.

got a few questions for you.

what axle parts are needed for the B16a 2nd gen, going into our 95 civic Dx? could they be taken from a Del-sol DOHC ? what about mounts? do you recommend hasport for axles or mounts?

what was required to wire your DX harness to the B16a, do you have a link or is it in this forum somewhere??

dont take too much time looking for it, just wondering if you knew off hand, thanks.

You need 94+ integra axles WITH ABS i would just uses stock axles and mounts unless you want to spend 3 times as much for hasport

yes i agree the b16a will be work due to the fact that it is obd0 also that tranny is cable and yours car is hryo. For all that money you could get a B20z and SI tranny and strech cars on a b16
