Probably not, but it will not run the greatest of course. With a higher lift, the valves are opening more, creating additional vacuum. The ECU will recognize this and it may affect your performance as the ECU will be dumping fuel. It is what happened to me running an untuned D16y8 with a stage 2 Crower camshaft. Once I converted to an OBD1 ECU and tuned it, I had no additional problems, except for the lack of any type of low end power whatsoever, but I also had a Skunk2 Intake Manifold installed too.

CEL for vacuum issues, 18mpg, fell on it's face due to the air/fuel ratio being too rich until like 3k rpms.
"Stages" are relative to the manufacturer. One companies stage "2" cam can closely match a different company's stage "1" etc
If you have an OBD2 (96+) Civic, the car will not "like" having that cam without tuning I am sure. I cannot tell you if it will drive better or not.

im planning to buy an ecu from my buddy that is tuned for intake and exhuast on a z6. how would my car run with y7 block z6 head ebay short ram ebay fart can and maybe off brand high flow cat. ?
