Default SIR I vs. SIR II

hello I am very knew to this forum haha and I am also about to join the world of civics, tonight actually when I buy a civic HB with a B16 swap. the catch is there is no cylinder head on it and no ECU. I did an engine swap on my old integra so this is no big deal. but I was just wondering 2 things

first will an ECU from an SIR II B16 work with an SIR I B16 and also will the wire harnesses be fully compatible?

if this information is already somewhere on the forum could you please give me a link I searched and could not find anything.

the harness should be compatible, but someone check me on that. The ecu's need to be from the same model. i take it you have the SIR I?

well I think the engine in there right now is an SIR II and there is a 1999 Civic SI tranny in there too. the reason why I ask is that I have seen an SIR I for 599 and I saw a SIR II engine for 900 and I wanted to save the money if possible haha. both of the engines had less than 35000 miles on them. but after doing some more research it seems that I would have to get a new harness to get an SIR I in there and some new engine mounts. I dunno tell me what you think haha should I be a cheap a$$ or should I just get the 900 dollar engine.
