Hello i wanted to do a b16 swap i need to know ALL the stuff to have a complete engine swap i c that they have a many different types of b16 to choose from. Which one will i need to get with out changing my OBD to 1 because my D16y8 all ready have a ODB2 in it already and can i use my stock engine mounts for the new b16. basacilly the 96-2000 year civic are the same cars so can i just drop the engine in with out modifacations. But i really need to know what do i have to do with the tranny linkage and ECU and wireing, will i be able to use my stuff i have now. And what stuff can i keep without change anything. Thanks and i use my car for daily driving

 

if you get an obd1 engine you can get a jumper harness, you will need the SI rear motor monut, and hopefully you get the shift linkage and ecu with the motor. you will need new axels as well, the place i got mine had all the stiff there to buy with it, it was a little more than ebay but i got all the right stiff. email i will give you the website i got it from. no need for him to get free advretising on this forum. other than the stuff i listed it was pretty easy to do. i recomend that unless you know the car it is coming out of to change the timing belt, water pump, alternator, and clutch as it is alot easier to it outside the car than inside. i made that mistake because i wanted it in faster, and it took alot more time fixing it later. my friend is a mechanic and we did it in my garage in a weekend. although it seems pretty simple in thought if he wasn't helping me i would have done it wrong and i think of myself as pretty mechanically inclined. now it runs like a dream. good luck.
