Default B16A or B18C1?

Getting very close to order time.. just wondering what peoples pro's con's would be from the B16 Si Vs extra 900 bucks for B18C1.. only a 10hp difference that i see assuming the JDM specs are same as US version engines.. i can never believe what i see on sunrise and hmotors.. cuz the same JDM motor will have a 10-15 hp difference on it.. keep in mind my final goal will never be higher than say 250whp in my hatch.. it is a partial daily driver.. meaning nice weather only.. MPG is mild concern.. but i am still not set on turbo or NA .. comes down to cost in the end .. this month i plan to get the engine in vehicle with bolt on mods.. next year turbo or NA rebuild.. please give me your opinions on whether or not i need to waste money on GSR engine or if i can just as easily .. if not cheaper .. be able to obtain my power rating with an SI B16.. also does anyone know the difference in weight .. is it less than 20 lbs between the 2?

the b18c has more powr potential due to its larger displacement, and it has more torque. if you can afford it go with the b18c

B18C > B16A IMO I could not in good faith pay that much money for a B16 when all you get is something a lil quicker in the top end.

sounds like what i will end up doing then.. anyone have idea what all i would have to do to get GSR to near 250whp over time? ... like could i do it NA with no prob?

Also ... has anyone here done a US GSR swap from used vehicle rather than JDM... i keep trying to find one around me locally to see what a junkyard would charge.. thinking if i can get one in decent shape for cheap enough i can do the lower end rebuilt on it now with the cash i have available

250 will take a lot of work on an NA b18. if thats your goal, get a basic turbo kit.

He doesn't say so, but judging by the bore and stroke he lists, this is either a bored b20/ls/vtec, or a largely bored gsr block using an ls crank. I think it is probably the latter.

theres a company called Stealth Coatings that can color your IC black with some kind of dye that actually helps it dissipate heat better, so its a performance gain too.
