Default d16 engine to b16

I'm only sllightly familiar with engine work, so this might be a dumb question but here goes. If I were to purchase a b16a dohc head that came with cams, valves, rockers, vtec solenoid, and valve cover, etc. is this possible to bolt on to a SOHC d16 block? Or is the b16 block different than the d16? (I know I'll need the distributor and intake manifold as well)

You would need the DOHC block and everything. Engine-wise almost everything is different, you even need the transmission for the DOHC engine, different axles and wiring harness as well. I dont know the whole list, but there are some sites out there that give you a whole parts list of what you need, I have an import tuner that explains it and provides honda part #s that you need to do the conversion and how to modify your existing wiring harness (if you have a DX model) to accomodate the Si engine, I will see if I can find it and scan the pages for ya.

that's correct. almost anything from one B series will bolt to another B series (with exceptions which I can't remember right now)
