h22 or b18!? swap!

RE: h22 or b18!? swap!
Yo, welcome to HCF.
If money is a factor the H22 is more cost effective, if you can do all of the work, and believe me it is a lot more work than the B series. The H22 goes about 200Hp for around $1,500. The B18C1 = 170Hp for ~ $2,500.
Bottom line, unless you own your own fabrication shop, go with the B18. But... if you are gonna pay someone to do it, you might as well swap the H.
My $0.02

The only other cost you need to spend on the H swap is a set of mounts($300 area), a prelude shifter assembly(cheap at a junk yard), and maybe a slight upgrade on brakes and mild suspension work on the front to handle the weight offset of the H22. People will say it will add a ton of weight and make your car not be worth a crap in turns but it aint true, a H22 swap weighs in less than a b16/turbo setup and you get a good quick car without having to tune and go to a dyno. Also the H22 has alot more tq than any B series. I have seen eg hatchs with bolt on h22's run deep into the 13's.
