budget in labor, timing belt, water pump, new accessory belts, spark plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor, clutch and resurfacing or replacing the flywheel too. buying the swap is one thing, getting to work everyday with a swapped car is a whole different story.

no, you need to replace those items, you dont want to swap in an engine with all the used crap on it. it will cause you years of grief.

**** the gsr god dammit
Why a GSR motor which has 170 hp with you can just get h22a with 2.2 liters and roughly 200 at the wheels. Plus the Civic is lighter. And yes its been done.

In an Ej8

1) Better balanced
2) More ideal bore/stroke ratio
3) Waaaay more options for expandibility
4) Stronger internals
5) Easier to swap

I know those nice fat 200+ numbers may look real inviting on paper, but when you actually put the engine in the car, you won't see 200 whp.

well, i already dropped 2900 on my h22 swap. i figure it can be done. its not in my car yet but it will be done soon. mine is a 98 ex, same thing. i looked at the gsr and type r swaps but they ended up being more money in the end and no lsd.

uh sacs, you dont think i'll be ok with 40,000 miles on the motor? i didnt factor in all the extra crap. i figured i'd be ok with the jap stuff. making me scared before i even get it in.

dammit yall, see i asked for advice BEFORE i bought a motor. i know, i know i could have searched the forum for answers but i am very busy lately. oh well i'll deal with my decision.
