Default LS Build Ek Coupe

Hey, I got a 00' EX Coupe with a 96' LS swap, I wanna go all motor and build it and eventually boost it next summer. I DON'T want to go LS-V! I have nothing against VTEC, I love VTEC, I just don't want to go LS-V. But I was wondering if anyone had some ideas or good advice help me out, give some some hints or info about what parts I should use and what's a good way to start

These are the parts I plan on already buyin to start me off:

Crower Stage 2 Cam's
not sure on what kind of valves, springs, or retainers yet
550cc Fuel Injectors
Skunk 2 Intake Manifold
Skunk 2 Exhaust
ARP Head bolts,

I'm still deciding wether or not I should build the block or just leave it stock, Like I said if you could help me out that would be great and I'd reallly appreciate it,

How much power do you want to end up with? Is there budget in mind?

IMO, I have had success with Super-Tech valve springs and retainers. I do not have experience with anything other than OEM valves. Bigger valves would require machining I would think which could put you over a budget (if there is one of course).

Everything you have listed (modifications list) sounds fine to me. You might need bigger injectors, but that depends on your power goals once boosted. Stock injectors will be fine for just cams etc at the moment.

What do you plan on tuning with?

As for the block, what are the compression numbers for the motor? If in good health, and your power goals are moderate, you should have no problem leaving the block stock.

BTW, welcome to the forum.

I want to reach up to 250hp, and I plan on spending like 2.5k to 3k AFTER alllll the parts I've already listed

As for tuning, I still dont know what I plan on tuning with,
And compression is stock

You might be starting to hit a max with those 550cc's. I would maybe look into 750cc's and you then have room to grow later on. A tuner can always just tune them down. I was at 60% duty cycle at WOT running 7psi on my supercharged D16. That set-up put down 160whp/145wtq.

I would also suggest looking into a walbro 255lph fuel pump as the pump is a weak link in our cars. Your budget seems reasonable for the build you are describing. Just remember, the little things add up quickly

As for compression, I understand the compression ratio is stock due to the stock pistons etc. I meant what are your compression numbers for each cylinder? It would be something like 190 190 185 190.
