I have decided to build up the d16 and boost/tune it. i think its gonna outrun most swapped civics around. My friend has a eg with a jdm b18c1 and he got beat by several non vtec turbo civics. so i think turbo is the best bang for my buck + i get a panty dropping blowoff sound too.

I would boost the singlecam its way cheaper to replace...the b18 are popullar swaps so they are gonna cost more..plus all the other parts needed for the swap. I would def stick with the D if your low on cash, I have a d16z6 and it pulls awesome..

Woot woot, people are catching on. D series parts are cheap and abundant. Boost dat sum bitch.

There's some ideas for ya. http://theoldone.com/articles/d%5Fse...ilding%5Ftips/

Pay special attention to the modifications that aid in oil flow, as the Y series have known to restrict oil flow to the bottom end, paticularly to the rods.

yes as Kedawei said, the y8 have oil pumps that arent worth a crap...with a good tune you can run around 200+hp on stock rods..with rods and pistons and good fuel management for tunning you can do alot!

I had a D16Z6 with just an intake, then a turbo and the turbo added CRAZY power. Now Ive got a JDM GSR Engine in and I love that too. Turbo the D, or get a DOHC.....but if you get a DOHC get a GSR, the B16 is over rated, I almost got one, but they dont make much more power than a D16.........but the GSR is a totally different story. Theyre like 3,000 ......but completely worth it.

I have basically stock d16z6 just i/h/e and carbon fiber hoodin my crx with obd1 re-wire p28 ecuandI walked agsrintegra, and a b18 hatch with no probs with out the bottle..like we alot of people mentioned d-series are always gonna be cheaper and only a lil less hp than b-series. with a turbo kit you will be faster then a b-series swap. I promise!

Just because one guy isn't successful with his build, doesn't mean it's not possible. Do your homework, buy quality parts, build it right, and a turbo D will smash on any IHE B series (assuming both cars are of the same weight, have the same traction, and equal drivers).
