Exclamation 1990 honda civic dx anti freeze leak; thermostat..or not?

anti freeze leaking from somewhere, when it first happened motor overheated (while there was coolant still in it) & smoke came from the exhaust & under the hood. After i got home, i refilled the radiator with coolant, and it no longer overheated, but the motor & exhaust still blew out smoke.

Heres the Youtube video of it. Help is appreciated

The leak is coming from near the thermostat housing, but I can't make out the precise location due to camera shake and an improper angle. Post a clear picture of exactly where you see the coolant leaking.

I think the 2-wire switch for the radiator fan on the thermostat housing is leaking. That or the 1-wire temp sending unit under the distributor.

Wait, the thermoswitch for your engine is on the rear of the block. I think the 1-wire sending unit is leaking, though make sure it's not the 2-wire thermosensor (see diagram).

If the temp sending unit or thermosensor is the problem, then it should not be too expensive. You just need the replacement part and some sealant for the threads.

They are both below the distributor. In the diagram, the distributor has been removed.
