RE: 1991 Honda Civic DX Hatchback
get a 89-91 civic or crx SI 5 speed tranny, that will put some fire under your ***. then do a multi point fuel injection conversion. google that and you will find a ton of info. after that look into a mini me swap (google that) or a full newer single cam vtec engine swap.
the tranny will make a huge *** difference because the closer gearing and low final drive make it stay in the powerband in every shift, and give you lots more acceleration. this tranny is a direct bolt in swap, the linkage will work fine.
the mpfi swap will give you some hp about 10 whp, its kinda difficult and requires some wiring and such. this step is a must if you decide to do anything to your car like a mini me or sohc vtec swap.
the mini me is retro fitting a sohc vtec head on you existing engine in your car. you will gain hp and torque from this. if you have a good bottom end and good compression on all cylinders you can expect between 100-120 whp with an intake header and exhaust. this may not seem like much but you have about 70whp now.

no mirror for me either, i just never erased it for the pic. post up some pics of you car. and i did do the d16z6 sohc vtec in my car, and stock a dx has 92 flywheel hp and the z6 126 flywheel, so that is a 34hp increase, and it cost me roughly 300 dollars for everything to do it (but i already had the engine)
