1994 Civic LX Sedan
Hey guys. I got a 1994 Civic LX sedan its got 100,000 miles on it and i want to get an engine swap. In the future i would also like to get a turbo with a good amount of boost (15-16PSI).What is the best motor for this set up? Should i have the internals swapped when i get the engine swapped? How much am i looking for the swap and possibly the internals alone? I live in Chicago, IL if that makes a diffrence.

RE: 1994 Civic LX Sedan
A lot of people round here seem to like the B18C1 for boosting. If you've got the money, then I'd say definetly to put in forged internals before you drop in the motor. It'll save you tons of time in the future. Price wise, for the engine, turbo kit (running 15-16 psi safely), and forged internals, I'd say anywhere from $5000 - $8000 depending on which engine you get, etc. But, keep in mind that you'll be selling your stock engine.

Thx for the input. This summer i wanna get the new engine and the forged internals. The turbo is gonna have to wait till later. So how much is it gonna be for the engine, internals, tranny, ECU, labor and such? How much do you think i can get for my stock. Right now it has like 98,900 mi. The motor is a 102 HP 1.5L SOHC motor.

A B18C1 usually runs you around $2500-$3500 (for the motor, tranny, and ECU), and you could probably get like $500 - $1000 for your motor depending on the condition it's in. The internals are gona be over a wide range of prices, all depending on which brand you go with. As for the labor, I wouldn't know because I do my own swaps.
