Default 2000 EX Sleeper

Hello, All...
Name's Brandon, and I'm addicted to my 2000 Honda Civic EX.

I've had the car only for a week thus far but already it feels like we've been flirting for ages. She introduced herself to me the other night: Sheridan.

She's a beautiful sedan with skin the shade of Desert Sand Metallic, an interior like none other, and the most sensual handling I've ever felt.

But now that I've got her out of her previous owner's hands - a 40-something hospital nurse who babied her and kept every record, thankfully - Sheridan's begging for some new upgrades.

After some browsing, thinking, and long talks with her, we've decided upon simply sleeping her out: beautiful, of course, but a bit under the radar. No "rice" for this girl. Exterior modifications will only entail a set of silver grille inserts, a factory style real spoiler, and a possible 1.8 f/r lowering.

After that, we're a bit unsure of where to go. She's still a bit skeptical to lift the skirt for me seeing as how I've only been with German girls and I'm not very experienced under a Honda hood.

Naturally, I'm looking for performance boosters, so I've already got my eye on a cold air intake and an exhaust system. She'll purr quieter than a kitten, I'm not into the roarin' girls. So the question at hand is what kind of engine mods are worthwhile without being overkill? <edited><editID>ershion</editID><editDate>38095.0733217593</editDate></edited>

well im pretty new to the whole honda world also. but based on my stang im goin with some of the similar mods. not getting into it near as far as the stang but jsut wanna give her a little kick and a little flash too. as far as the body goes i am plannin on a factory wing and maybe a front chin spoiler and aset of springs.all honda on the body no rice body kits. as far as perf goes i have a magnaflow catback ordered and prob a nice set of headers. the magnaflow should sound good but not loud *** coffeecan sound. oh yea and just a nice cai and throttle body. that will give it a little kick and not dip into the stang funds too badly.

nice to have u! shoot for basic mods like a front lip, spoiler, rims, and thats it! By the way try posting in the headers and exhaust section instead of internals cuz this section of the forum deals with pistions, rods, and other internals<IMG src=smileys/smiley3.gif border="0"></P>

For performance wise and sound Skunk2 makes the best exhaust for civic, well thats what i was told. I had it on my 2003 civic and it sounded awsome. I also had An AEM cold air intake and those 2 together made the car sound really good. For the intake i would go with either AEM or an Injen and for the Exhaust i would go with either Skunk2 or Apex i

thermal exh systems have been dyno proven to be one of the most powerfull exh sytems on the market with a downside that they are very loud. do you want a total sleeper? i mean no even being able to hear the engine under hard accel? you can always build a nitrous engine. no one will know what u have until nitrous is activated <IMG src=smileys/smiley1.gif border="0">

as far as intakes go, any brand is good, even ebay intakes are fine. Intakes don't really do a whole lot performance wise. Exhaust...Greddy evo. Nitrous is awesome for a sleeper. I have an 01 EX. I so far have a 3 inch drop, honda Aero front and rear lip, shaved my emblems. Performance wise I have an aem short ram intake and greddy evo exhaust, it's opened up a little bit but I am saving for nitrous now.

I think that a quality intake is important, some of the ebay intakes arent CARB legal and/or the MAF sensor doesnt fit right, but other than that an intake is a very simple thing... kinda hard to f-up. Im not big on nitrous, but its definately a sleeper mod.

Do u want to go for drifter quick or drag quick?
