93 Civic DX 1.5L Valve Problem

is it a vtec engine? if so than you wouldn't have bent the valves, that's what vtec does, it raises the valves up higher for better fuel efficiency (and some power) as well by raising the valves up higher it makes it just about impossible to bend them, even if the timing belt snaps and the engine spends over real fast like what used to happen in the older cars w/ out this feature.

he probably didnt bend the valves, but vtec engines can still hit on the small lobes. probably wont at low-rpm though.
