b18 type r in 98 civic??

Default b18 type r in 98 civic??

ya i have a 98 civic ex and i want a motor with some power and ive come to see that the type r is one of the most powerful for the hondas or r they? and i was wondering if it would swap alright in my 98 and if i would have any trouble with emissions??

the h22 and k series motors have more power than a type r motor, but they are harder to swap in. For the type r motor you are going to need new motor mounts, axles and some other small things. For emissions, depends where you live. If you live in Ca, it's usually a pita to stay emissioin legal.[&:]

but for what it costs to swap a k series it wold much rather swap a b18c in there and call it a day , although the k20a is just a really nice engine but its just too expensive and it involves a lot of custom work in order to swap it. the easiest swaps are the b and the d series so my advice is go with a b18c or a b18c5
