Default b18c1....lotta questions need answered...

alrite well im going to do a swap from a d16y8 to b18c1, i want to rebuild the engine myself so i can learn the ins and outs of the motor. i would like to know if there is a book out there i can read up on for the b18c1 motor and where i can buy that at. also what new items will i need to buy to make the engine stronger for when i boost it? any information would be very helpful, this will save me money with labor and will be a fun experience.....thanxs...

like what Nail said DO YOUR RESEARCH!! its important that you think before you act because you are spending alot of money and alot of hard work to that project especially since your not a certified mechanic. but this is what i reccommend you do. look around for a good price on a b-series v-tec motor. if anyone around you wants to sell one to you make sure that motor starts, runs good, and a good price. i've been screwed 2 times trying to buy a d-series motor for my 91 civic. soo make sure you get everything of the motor, that means the ecu too and try to get it for a reasonable price. now to the building motor part. if you are going to build a motor make sure you have someone or take it to someone that you know that they know what there doing. building motors is not as hard as you think tho im not saying that its easy or hard it just takes time and precision because YOU can make a mistake. i suggest buy a manual from your local auto store and read it. make sure its for the right motor or build up your doing. anyways good luck on the build up if you need help just type

If you mean that you actually want to replace the rods and pistons and crap your slef it will prob cost you twice as much in tool as in parts to even get the job done. Not worth buyin the stuff to do it right if your only gonna do it once.
