Default Back to the old garage...finally

Hay guys how ya'll been i just got back from Iraq and im picking up back were i left off. My wife sold my 98 Civic [:@] so... I went out and bought me a 05 civic a month ago and already feel like im a grandpa... I dont like this feeling and im 32 for gosh sakes!!! Im tired of these little kids running around with just exhaust, intake, headers, and just other BS stuff. Ive been out of the loop for a year but , Im willing to put a big piece of cake into my new car to make it better like i have saught for so long. So here is a few questions i got if you guys can help me out. Which is better in the over all longest run there is the B18C5 or the K20A? I will be adding a Turbo or Supercharger and which is better with what? If one has the best advatange over the other due to NOS injection let me know that is a good thing i want. Basicly this car im building i want it to be the biggest, badest, fastest thing on 4 wheels. Any performance items would be appreciated and would save me a little research. and if i can push 400 HP in a 4 cyl. then i want to know how and this is a semi everyday driving car also. Im going to put in a reserve line with 103-121 octane gas tank that i will sit in my trunck for those moments. Sorry this might be a long help list but im just looking for free info lol. So have at it guys and i will make sure to post pictures, dyno's, and maybe a video after everything is attached, welded, wrapped, bolted, sealed, and cleaned. Hopefully it will be good enuff for a mag. but we will see.

the K20A is the best for your app. if you are boosting in the near future the B18C5 wont like that cuz of high CRs. aside from that, the K20A is more or less a direct swap for the 7th gen cars.

but the k20a will cost you an arm and a leg

If you want to put in a K20A, your gonna need to put the whole cake in, a piece will not suffice.

400hp that is a little low you should try for 500-600hp.

Well if he is going to be using the k20 there are some parts for that but I am betting some things are going to have to be fabbed to fit. But you sound like you wanna do it right. I reccomend getting the k and bulletproofing it then throwing massive amounts of boost at it.

ya i understand that some fabrication will be needed to get all this done. I didnt thing you could put more than 400 HP in a 4 cyl and i guess if i can put 500-800 in it heck lets do it. So u think the K20A is the best or should i look at the K24A1 ? Also what would be better put massive amounts of boost in it or put a super and Nos on it?

The k20a1 has 160 hp with 141 Ib/ft

The k20a2 has 200 hp and redlines at 7900 rpm's and has more performance parts available.

Both are strong engines but if you can save up for the k20a2... Hope that helps
