Default broken bolt help..big pic.

Well..i found a broken bolt today...


its in there pretty deep and i have no way of grabbing it or anything

should I drill and Tap it or is there any other options?

try the reverse bits ......they unscrew broken bolts. Should work.

alright...well thanks for the imput....ill hit up autozone on the way home and pick up some reverse bits...

god...well..i drilled and attmpted to use an easy out...but...the drill wont latch on to the easy out...

im letting it soak in liquid wrench...maybe that will soften it up....


otherwise if its not out tommorow..im gunna drill and retap.

Try getting a flat head screwdriver that would fit into the hole and tap it with a hammer until you make a good enough groove to unscrew the sucker out.

i dont think that would be a good idea the the motor.... isnt the block and such aluminum....... ya definatly dont want to crack it or knock the threads out....

^ Naw you can do it, I did it when I got the threads of a valve cover bolt stuck in the head of my car.

That is why you don't hit crazy hard, you do slow easy taps until you get a small groove on the broken bolt. Anyways, most of the bolts that easily break on our cars are made out of bronze, so it doesn't take much force to punture a groove on them.
