Default Civic SI Coupe ??? Wtf

Hi im new to the forums and wondering if someone can help me out with identifying what engine type my car has. Recently ive bought a "03 Civic SI Coupe" After some testing i came to believe that my head gasket is leaking ( Low compression on cylinder 2, burning oil, lack of power etc...)

Anyway, the Coupe is a 1.7L vtec and i cant seem to pinpoint for sure what engine it is. Apparently, from what ive read, The Si coupe in Canada goes by a different name in the US, possible a DX or something. All i can seem to find is engine types for the SI Hatchback.

Any help will be appreciated.

It is not a B series motor. CDM Si=USDM EX. The engine is most likely a D17A2 vtec motor. Look at the front of the engine block, just to the left of the header. There is a square plate with the engine code on it. You may have to wipe away engine grime to see it.

^^No, their Canadian SI is the US EX, not ek (which is a general term thrown around for the 96-00 Civics). The op has an "EM2" chassis or something like that since he has an 03. I don't know much about the 01-05 chassis codes to be 100% honest though.
