Civic syncromesh fault?
Hi,
I own a 1994 EG6 hatchback civic VTi (Uk spec SiR, B16A2 as standard)and i was wondering if i had a problem with my gearbox syncromesh. I was at the traffic lights today and i pulled away, up towards 4500-5000rpm which isnt much for a Vti as you might know. When i changed gear from 1st to 2nd it juddered a lot until i changed into 3rd gear. Ive also noticed it doesnt like shifting down from 4th gear to 2nd gear, i was at about 3500rpm in 4th and assumed shifting down to 2nd would put me somewhere low in the VTEC power band to pull onto the motorway, it also juddered violently.
suggestions?

RE: Civic syncromesh fault?
This seems to be an engine problem not transmission. It is probably misfiring due to weak ignition. Start by replacing the spark plugs, wires, cap, and rotor. Also inspect the coil for burn marks around the output terminal.
