Default Crank Angle sensor

So intrestingly enought my car broke down again...Turned out the the main problem was the crank angle sensor. So i ordered the part according to the vin of my car only to find out that it does not fit and that some1 who had owned the car in the past had done something to change it from a two prong to a three prong. So i need to find a sensor that is a three prong that can can work on my car. Any ideas?
Total shot in the dark here.
