Default D15B7 head gasket

hi all, I have a D15B7 and I just replaced the head gasket a couple months ago only to have it go again. I know there is a TSB about it and they now have a stronger head gasket but I wasn't aware of that at the time and just got the OEM one.
my question is will a D16Y8 head gasket work on a D1B7?
the reason I ask is it's not only stronger but it's thinner.

Did you have the head resurfaced and torque the head bolts to spec?

thanks for the fast reply, I did torque the head bolts to the right spec and I sanded the head down smooth.
and I had my father (a mechanic for over 30 years) help me with it so i'm quite sure it was just a defective gasket.
any way will the Y8 gasket fit?

yes it will fit, any d15 or d16 head gasket will fit, now, i strongly suggest you to (from a mechanic (myself) have the head milled to have a clean flat surface and when you torque the head bolts put 10lbs extra on last torque to ensure a snug fit since you are reusing the head bolts.

thanks for the reply, and I would have had the head milled but there is NOWHERE around here to have it done, the closest would be a couple hours away and I don't have the time or money to get it done, I need my car right away.
but thanks for the help
