Default d15b7 questions and discovery

Well, I was just changing the oil in my car this morning and I noticed the engine specs and numbers as I was just poking around the engine bay. I have a 1994 honda civic cx hatchback, and as far as i knew it should have a d15b8? So looking at plates and such I see the specs of this engine are a d15b7 16 valve. Does this mean somebody already swapped this in for some reason before I owned the car? Here is a picture anyways:

Here in Canada the stock 92-95 CX engine is a D15B7
