Default D17A2 Head

Where can I find a D17A2, or 02 EX head, because I am trying to change my cams and I was told that they do not make camshafts for the LX.

the head gasket is the thin metal plate that you put on before the head to protect the head and the block also to prevent oil leaks. anyways you should be able to get the head online ebay or another website dont know these guys should know. make sure you get all the bolts for the head and the proper gasket. also check your local junk yard might get lucky

he wants to replace the head on his lx with that of an ex. and btw, im not sure this will work. it very well could, but i havent actually heard of anyone trying it. the best way to check is to get a head gasket for each engine and hold them up to each other and see if they line up well. thats a start on seeing if it can work.

thanks, yea the reason why I am thinking of doing this is because someone told me that they did not make cams for the LX, and that I would need a turbo cam when I put on my turbo charger.

you wont "need" a turbo cam, its just a little better. it will run fine without it.

so I will be fine with the cam that I have, because I am going to soon change out most of my internal (pistons, springs, valves) and I am also port and polishing the head and throttle body before turbo. I just do not want my cam to break or something like that.

you can swith the head of a d17a2(dohc ex)head into a d17a1(sohc dx,lx) engine...this how others make their non-vtec engine into a vtec engine, also with the help of a vafc to bypass the ecu or completely change the ecu...7thgencivic is the best source for more information
