my brother's 93 civic radiator finally died after almost 400,000 miles.

i'm suggesting he replace it with a Koyo all aluminum radiator vs. the stealership's $500 OEM radiator.

what have you guys used?

is the $50 radiator from autozone a used reconditionedrad? I'm needing one too and I was going to get the alum koyo rad b/c it's lighter and said to cool better.

 

I think it was reconditioned. I didn't care. I needed one asap. They said 50 bucks and i took it.

 

get a dual core out of the 94 del sol DOHC vtec. its 2 times as thick hence the Dual core.it'll flow better and you'll have about 150 wrapped up in it and a fan from autozone.

 

i upgarded to a koyo high performance rad shortly after doing my first swap in a crx and the car seemed to run better; after i fixed the hose that needed to be cut at an angle and i overheated from loseing all my fluid that is....but i def suggest it especially over a $500 oem one

 

i had my brother order a oem replacement model from pro street online's website for $92.

he had to pay for overnight shipping but it beats $500 for the stealership radiator (not including labor).

i'm gonna help him install it this weekend.

i'm thinking i may swap out his thermostat as well. anybody have a diagram of where it's located?

i could download the online helms manual pdf, but that thing has TOO many pages...

 

Follow the lower radiator hose, t-stat is at the other end

stuff costs $14 at that stealership...

 

mishimoto radiators are really good and only 150 bucks for a nice aluminum one
