Default Engine codeing problem? JDM D15B

Ok my engine code which is D15B with no numbers behind, says that my motor had to come out of a 91- 99 Civic VTI VTEC. Other sites say differ. The thing is.. my motor is not a VTEC and its DPFI. Now this freaks me out. My last post gives you pics. Im determining to keep this motor, add a VTEC (mpfi), or do a engine swap in total. The motor has under 50k on it. From what i here from the D-series engines.. the JDM D15B is the best and even better with a vtec. I just want to know what my engine really is.

It's JDM, just old. If compression is good pop a Z6 head on there, convert to MPFI/OBD1/etc and you'll have the equilivent of a JDM D15B VTEC. Not sure if the gearing is the same, very well may not be. If you wanna rev it up to redline (7200) in each gear I could tell you. Do a compression check before anything though. If the results are low you can rebuild it with these: http://www.heeltoeauto.com/Honda-D-S...ZC-c-2010.html. This is the only importer of P08 pistons known to me.
