Engine compatibility?

Engine compatibility?
Hello,
I have a 91 Civic DX with a very tired 1.5L 16V engine, which burns HUGE amounts of oil. I don't see this engine lasting very long, so I'm going to start looking for a lower mileage engine at a junkyard. Which year/model engines would be compatible with my car?
Thank you.
Mikel

if you want to remain stock another 1.5 from a 88-91 will drop in no wiring needed. or you could get an si engine d16a6 from a 88-91 a little more power and you would want to convert it to multi-port fuel injection to get more power(but you don't have to).
or you could always go to a newer single cam vtec like a d16z6 or d16y8 you would need to wire up vtec and mpfi to get them to run properly, but if you go that route, the extra 30 hp is great.

eh...the thing i dont like about the z6 is the low compression ratio. i like the D15B, DOHC ZC, and this one sweet setup that i cant recall now, but its all with stock D parts and it gets you to like 17.4:1 compression ratio.
