Default engine starts but stops immediately

Hey guys i need some help with my 97 civic ex. My engine starts but in a couple of seconds it stops immediately, also the rpm needle starts going crazy. anybody knows what might be causing this problem. My car is pretty much stock, except for my intake and cat back.

the last thing i did was a tune up, that was like two weeks ago where i change the fuel filter, the little rotor thing inside the distrubutor cap, the spark plugs and the oil.

What do you mean by your tachometer needle going crazy? Does the engine overrev as well or does the needle just jump around?

man, me and my brother couldn't find the damn problem on my car that we ended up taking to the mechanic. Now today i'm going to pick it up, however it going cost me 400 dollars. man and it turn out to be a simple electrical problem from the ignition switch that my bro could have fixed it.[:@]
