Default Engine swap questions

yo everyone ive been seeing all this talk about engine swaps... i have a 2001 honda civic ex vtec... can somebody tell me what type of engine it is..

also:

-what is a good engine to swap 2

-how much will it cost

-how much power will i gain off the bat

wikipedia has good info on this. just search for "honda civic" in wikipedia. Off the top of my head I think it's a D17A2. I'm positive about the D17 part though.

depends what you want. Research.

However much you buy it for. Search on ebay for the engine and it should give you an idea of roughly how much it's going to cost.

you will obviously have the amount of HP that whatever engine you swap into your car has. WHP will be less of course. You don't "gain" HP from an engine swap. Without the engine you have O HP. Therefore, you're just replacing the amount of horsepower you have with something else.

WHP is the HP at the wheels. BHP or HP is the HP at the crank. You lose a little HP between the crank and the wheels.
