Default Engine Trouble

ok Just picked up a cheap jap import civic 1.3. my problem is when the car is switched on it idles very low and irratically, around 200-400rpm. if i turn on a/c or anything else the car eventually stalls! i replaced all the spark plugs and found that one of the old plugs was covered in oil so im presuming this is the root of my problem. is my engine f****d????

adjust the idle up to 700. turn on the ac - if the idle drops off, then probably it is the idles air control valve (also called electronic air control valve).
there are tests for that also.
what year ??

Even on 3 cyl it will idle around 600 to 700rpm, sounds like first off you have a ring that is shot. As far as your idle I would check timing and your fuel system. If you are not throwing any check engine lights that means your sensors are all up and working properly so all you need is correct fuel, correct air, and correct timing for the engine to run properly unless something is internally wrong. Does your car have a knock sensor on it stock?

To adjust idle:
Disconnect the IACV (Idle Air COntrol Valve)
Start Engine
Turn screw on throttle body until the idle is at the desired value.
Turn off Engine
Reconnect IACV
Start engine and check idle again.
