[&:]1st of all, not a car expert.. do have some knowledge..so keep answer and lingo simple.
Have a 92 LX with a D15B, automatic.....purchase a 97 DX engine D16Y7. Can i used my old 92 harness, intake , exhaust manifold, distributor to make this thing run???? I want to put this D16Y7 unto my 92 auto tyranny? I keep getting conflicting answer, some say no , some say yes. Can it be be done simple??
Not looking for power just some economy.....Got enough gas guzzler. Thanks[]

 

Tranny, header, and intake mani will for sure swap.

yeah the harness should work just fine. im swapping in a built d16y7 into my 92 civic which is replacing my d15b7 and using everything from the intake system to the dissy to the wiring harness from the b7 onto the y7

Whats the dizzy? from what i,ve been reading, that applied to the vtec.. Don't think any of my engines is a vtec My auto92 LX block just have D16B... The other engine was pull from a manual that engine read D16Y7... Maybe the 7 is for manual and their another # for the auto?

You gotta convert from obd1 to obd2. The d16y7 came out of a 96-00 lx or dx and your car (a 92) is obd1. If you end up wanting to get rid of the y7 or know somewhere to get another let me know cuz Im looking for one. I have a 99 and the dude I bought it from blew the stock motor and put in a d15b2 (which is obd1). The check engine light is on because it has the stock harness and is missing sensors and it idles pretty weird. I would even trade you motors if you wanted. Cuz the one I got came out of a 92-95 civic.

 

the d16y7 is the next generatiopn of the b7 just .1l bigger and still a non vtec motor. Everything will hook up just find except for a couple things like some of the obd2 sensors on the y7 bottom end.
