Default How to beef up the 02 civ?

alright, got a 2002 honda civic lx, coupe, 5 speed and it has a D17A1 in it. I want to beef my car up. I really want a V-TEC, butwhichv-tec would be best for these 7th generations? Or could i swap heads or something on the D17A1 to make it run just as good?

p.s. im fairly new to the honda world so excuse my lack of knowledge, but if someone could help that would be awesome. thanks

haha ok theres not alot of performance within the d17 but you can do well with the help of the search at the top of the page you are looking for a minime swap which is a head swap you take all the vtec parts from the d17a2 and swap them to the a1 there have been a few people to do a lot with our gen. but if you go into the turbo/nos/supercharger section there is a special sticky for 7th gens. also being a 7th gen owner this website was king http://www.dezod.com/default.cfm the first website ive seen to specifically help us out. there are going to be a ton of doubters against the d17 but stick with it research a lot. most people will tell you to trade in your car or to swap an si of that years engine which will probably be out of the question because it is a $bank$ engine (k series)

good luck and welcome to HCF
