Default How should I get started

I am looking to get a 92- 95 civic hatchback and swap a engine from a stock version of the hatchback what exactly do you suggest doing to make the car very fast without costing to much.I thought maybe a b16 engine but i wasnt sure if i needed to swap anything more than just the engine, tranny, and ecu to make it workfrom stock. Also i need advice on all the cost like labor and shipping to get it all inside and running averages please if you can, give exact estimates. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Budget is my biggest priority! Thanks

your gonna break your bank fast if you on a budget with an engine swap. talking 4 grand minimumand if your bringing it to a shop then even more...

if i were you and on a budget, i would just keep the stock engine (i dont know what you have hopefully its an si hatch running a d16z6) and just throw I/H/E and if you still feel like you need more build internals, you could get fast as a b16 with your stock engine building your stock engine for a lot less if you do it yourself.

if you wanna go VERY fast then look into boosting your stock motor, that would probably be cheaper still than doing an engine swap probably under 2.5k tuned if you shop around a ton for cheap deals. and with a mild safe boost setup you could run 160whp to 180whp and that will stomp a b16
