i just realized that the b18 type r and the b16b look very similar the only difference is the b16b valve cover and head i guess is shorter than the b18 type r both are factory painted red?

 

The red Vtec valve cover is a JDM or a Type R. The GSR has a black valve cover, same as the USDM B16. The 96-01 Ls valve cover is the same as the B20 also.

Nope the ITR and CTR head us the same as the B16 head. All are PR3 heads, the difference is the Type R heads are hand P&P from the factory. The Type R also as better valves, springs and cams but it is the same exact head casting. The B16a block is shorter than the other B series, I think that is what you are thinking of. The B17, B18a/b, B16c1 and B18c5 all have the same block height, the B16a is shorter resulting in a shorter stroke and the smaller 1.6L's.

 

yeah its that its kinds confusing that a b18 would look like a b16 but its ok. i kinda know them better the motors now. not too many people really care for honda;s where i live but thanks man
