Making sure that the cam and crank are synchronized at the TDC1 (see diagram) will tell you whether the mechanical timing of the engine is off. I'd first suggest that you check the ignition timing with a timing gun, but the engine is not running well enough to do this procedure.

Well I've tried basically everything, and got nothing. The car is in time..just will not idle properly. So I called around and found a shop here (reputable even) thats going to test it on Friday and tell me whats wrong so I can fix it. They said it would be anywhere from $20-$57 so really not bad. They said if it's something simple they wouldn't even charge me at all. I can do the repairs myself, just need to know whats wrong with it...I'm really not knowledgeable enough to diagnose it and I really need the thing fixed.

At any rate, I just wanted to thank you again RonJ, for all your help. This is a good community

One more thing before you bring the car to the mechanic. Check the fast idle valve:

Finally got around to taking the car to a garage. They told me my ECU was in backup mode for some reason. And that it was dumping way too much gas into the engine, they said I'd need to order a new one and with them installing it, etc the bill would be $595

Is it difficult to swap ECUs? I don't think it would be..I could just pick up the one out of the car I took the motor from at the junkyard couldn't I?

Question: can I put an ECU from an automatic car into my standard? I'm pretty oblivious to anything with computers

nope

quick question: what engine is in it... there's no such thing as b15.

did you mean D15? or B16? or D16?
