Default Increasing horse power output on my 05 Civic.

Ok, here's the deal. I own a 2005 civic Value Package 2 door coupe(automatic transmission). This car does not have the V-Tec engine. It just has the standard 115 horsepower motor. Needless to say, it's quite underpowered and I was wondering if anyone on here has any suggestions on a safe, efficient way to bump my engines horsepower output by a good 30-40 horses without putting excessive strain on my engine and suspension components. I don't want anything exhaust related though. In any case, hopefully someone here can point me in the right direction. Thanks.

A mini-me swap (putting the VTEC head on your engine), intake, header, a high-flow cat, and custom 2.25" exhaust piping welded to your stock muffler to keep that stock sound.

Thanks for the info.

How much do you estimate all that would that run me?

Mini-me swap will cost you however much you can get all the parts for, probably around ~$800 (really rough estimate) once it's all said and done. That's if you do it yourself. I don't think it would cost all that much for someone else to do it though, it'll probably be the same price as if the shop changed the headgasket, because all the same work is involved. That alone should gain you a pretty much guaranteed 12hp and VTEC, which will help compliment other modifications.

Custom exhaust piping will have to be done at an exhaust shop. Since you're reusing the stock muffler, it'd probably be around $200.

eBay intake, and then sticking a name brand filter on it will be sufficient. Will run you around $100 total.

Header and High-flow cat i'm not sure of details for your generation Civic.
