Default ive got about $1,000.00

what would be the most bang for my buck, ? do a complete valve and spring and retainer r&r? the main thing for me is (4 those who dont know, i'm replacing d15 w/ b16a in my '88 hatch) i want to do the most productive things i can with the motor out, ie; i already have new clutch kit(hopefully the right one?) i'm deffinately installing new oilpump and pan gasket, i.m. gasket, is there anything else to do to the lower block other than pump and gasket? is a thin head gasket safe, and worth the effort? do really gain compression with thin gasket? not much time left

with stage 2s, youll need springs and retainers. get those now, and maybe a set of type r valves, that way, you can add cams later without any worries.

it appears to be, looks almost the same as the d15 thats in there now, but really i have no idea what to look for. the new does have an ark where a cable would terminate, below a bracket.
