its to small a t25 is one of the smallest turbo's
to produce 300 hp on a 1.6 i'd say go with something like a t3/t4
that chart on the link you posted it says upto 330hp but below it shows a 2.5L

You don't need an aftermarket cam for 300 WHP... it does help you get there of course though. As far as keeping the engine from having problems withstanding the power, all you really need is stronger rods, ARP rod bolts, stronger pistons, and some ARP head studs... and a good tune of course. On a Y8 you'll have to do something about the oil pump, I don't know what though. For that reason, I would recommend a D16Z6 instead.

You'd definitely need a stronger clutch (stage 2 or 3) to hold that power... for axles I would just go with autozone ones, and preload when you launch... if you ever break an axle, replacements are free due to the warranty. If you have extra funds though, i'd go for some level 2.9 axles from driveshaftshop.com... beats changing axles a lot and being stranded when one breaks.

I do not think that a T25 will get you to 300 WHP.

to a point it will be...a good daily driver.
its not a t25 .. it just has a t25 flange(what bolts upto the exhaust manifold). the turbo is a gt28 but it dont have to be that turbo thats just an example of what to look for.

I have read that what you would do is "shim" the Y8 oil pump. I don't really know what that means though, i've never read into it.
