what are you looking to get? i have seen ls-vtec's push about 170ish whp and 150ish wtq upon proper assembly. you wont touch that with crower's.

umm, well I would like to get a vtec head, but then a nasty lswould be nice, and then turbo later on this year, either way its goin to have turbo around the end of this year maybe sooner.

your cam needs are way different with a turbo, so hold off on the cams until its boosted, or get some turbo profile cams. stay away from LS-Vtec. there are quite a few reasons, but the main one is that your block isnt made to run to 8000 rpms for very long. it just wont last. a properly tuned turbo will last awhile on that motor as long as you take care of it and dont run the hell out of it all day every day.

What if I did not do turbo and built my ls, if i build my head, port and polish a intake manifold i have layin around and get a header, i should be good or would my block not be able to handle, it?? I heard it has a good block and can handle runin 8 grand. with built head.

it can handle 8k, but not all the time, everyday. it will fatigue the parts enough to cause severe engine failure. DOHC VTEC motors are zero balanced from the factory, non-vtecs are not. so that little bit out of balance that the motor has could cause severe vibration at high rpm. an all-motor ls motor can be a lot too handle for a civic. a good set of cams, an aftermarket IM, a good header, and some mild headwork can make a beast out of it. with a torque curve that would make an h22 blush. (of couse it wont have the top-end charge, but a lot can be said for mid-range power.)
