That happened to me once, with some body work. I talked to a lawyer and this is what I have to say. Mention the word BAR and watch em tremble. muahahah. Its the last thing they want to hear. Beuro of automotive repair-BAR. It'll make em honest pretty fast, damn fast matter of fact. In my case the owner threatend to fire the guy who over-quoted me. Additionally, he honered the origional quote. Google it- BAR
Best of luck to ya.

Its messed up they quotes over a thousand dollars less then they actually charged but I think the final price is reasonable for the amount of work you had done, especially if its a reparable machine shop.

I payed 1000 dollars just for my block and I took my machine shop an almost bare block already hot tanked with just the crank in it. I had it bored and crank polished and balanced then new pistons, bearings, and rods installed.

they pretty much did ripp you off, the reason you get a quote is so you know how much you have to pay, and if the bill is way higher then the quote, then you should complain

OMG, should of shipped it to us man could of had the engine fully built and done shipped back to you for 2K. another $800 and she would of been sleeved with darton's. AT least this way if something happens to the motor i would go back and rap them up the a$$ until you were satisfied.

Believe me, I ASKED AROUND! No one seems to believe me but I did. I called very many shops, these guys had the cheapest estimate and I hadn't heard anything bad about them so I thought what the hell. Makes me scared to ever build an engine again, car gets tuned next week though! I got my 16g evo3 turbo in too!

Riceburner, I would have done that but its too late now. I got ****ed over
lol

lol its cool man, for future reference now you know. what we quote people is what the bill is. If it ever goes over that we end up picking up that extra part of the bill not you
