By the way, would the stock catalytic converter have anything to do with the poor performance and if it does how would I go about correcting the problem. Do I need a completely new exhaust system or just a header.

they did some test and the cat doesnt make that big of a dif unless you have alot of power...if you got a header and catback youd see a nice change
