Well lately this just started happening i drive a 2000 civic with 71,000 miles on it and say i am in 3rd or 4th gear just cruisin and about 2,800 rpm i nail it to the ground it seems like it misfires like it wants to go but it just idles and back and forth but it still goes but it kicks around a little bit but it dont do it alot. I am thinkin it needs a tune up like in the spark somewhere maybe plugs or i really dunno i am thinkin it has same plugs and everything since the 1st owner whenever it came out in 2000 if anyone could help me or what should i just do a tune up or what it dont seem like a big deal but i wanna get it fixed i mean whenever i am cruisin and just nail it it like pushes back and forth liek its not gettin all of its spark i guess i really dont know if anyone could help me i would appreciate it alot if you need help on me describing it better than i can or if you have any questions i can answer them but let me know soon thanks alot i need to get this fixed.

You probably just need to change the spark plugs/wires/distributer cap.

 

yah i know i was in a hurry and had to get to bed cause i had to work in the morning. I could have done alot better but i was in a hurry my bad. But yah i think i am just going to do a tune up because i think its all orginal plug wires and cap and rotor

 

ya do a tune up... typical parts, plugs, wires, distributor cap and button, and also the fuel filter if you havent replaced it. and if you can check your timing on the car...
