Or you could use an easier approach and do what I do; use 2x8 blocks of wood (or whatever size scrap lumber you have) and drive up on them. Gives me just the right height to get under with my oil drain pan and wrench. If you need a little more room, you can step it up with multiple pieces.

Not much chance of that happening.

Thanks again for all the input. Maybe I'll start to do it myself.

Default Mixing Oil

My civic calls for 5w-20. Can I use a 5w-30 safely?

I have a hard time finding the grade I want to purchase off the shelf.
Can you mix different grades? For example can I mix a 0w-20 with a 5w-30??????

what year civic is this? i am pretty sure you can use 5-30 instead of 5-20 safely. not a good idea, IMO to mix though

for me personally i would stick with 5-20 if the manual and oil cap recommends it. there's a reason that honda recommends it. i'm thinking you can probably get better gas mileage as well. someone else here can tell you what they think though. you can change to 5-30 but not sure if the benefit to use 5-30 out weighs 5-20
