oil pan removal

Default oil pan removal

i have a 98 honda civic ex vtec n i was going to replace the oil pan but wen i looked under the car it looked like i had to remove the exhuast down pipe to get to some bolts... if any1 has done this b4, will i have 2 remove that pipe?

you might not have too, but it will make it much easier to drop the exhaust

i cant remember if the oil pan can be snaked past the exh or not. i prefer to remove the downpipe anyways. also be sure to heavily soak the exh bolts/nuts with pb blaster or the sort as they can be very hard to get off. its not too bad, i replaced the rod bearings in my integra in under 1.5hours on the ground while the car was on stands. it shouldnt take you long at all to do just the oil pan.

You should be able to get the pan off w/o dropping the exhaust.
