Pete, when I installed my mani and tb I had a similar problem. My didnt go all the way to redline, but it bounced between like 2-4.5k. What we ended up doing, is I believe adjusting the idle control valve. Im not so sure that its your sencors, but may be. I'll try to take a few pics tomm with my buddys camera. After all I owe you for all the help you've provided me with.

I think that it has something to do with the IAC like fast93 said. If the throttle is closed, its gonna be pretty hard for the engine to get enough air to run at redline. So either the IAC is open all the way or there is a massive air leak coupled with other problems.

This is unlikely, but is your throttle body linkeage too tight?

There is no throttle body gasket......would that make THAT big of a deal?> I ordered a new gasket, but it wont be here till tuesday, so i figured id start the motor up w/o (put the throttle body gasket back on) Just to see how it ran....would that make THAT big of a deal...having no throttle body gasket?

most likely. its sucking air in there, straight into the manifold, so the motor thinks the throttle is open, thats why its revving so high.
