Pistons for D15b7 mini me rebuild
Hey, don't post alot, but I've finally decided to do a little work to my daily driver. It's a D15b7, currently still running, but I'm going to rebuild an engine for it now so there's no rush at some point. I have a spare D15b7, so that's one reason I'm going with it. Ideally I drive this car on the interstate 80% of the time. So milage is a big deal. More so then drag performance. Ideally I'll also swap in a DX trans with the 3.25 ratio for a little less RPM on the freeway.
I plan on doing a mini-me swap while I'm doing this too. Figure the few times I do wish I had a little power, might as well have the VTEC to supply it. So far, I've found stock replacement cast pistons through NAPA. Aftermarket wise, I see alot of places have D16 stuff, but not the D15. Keith Black lists a 9083HC part number, it is listed as being for the D15b6 though. But the compression height seems very close, and the bore, pin, and everything else seems to match fine. Anybody use this piston before? Other options out there? Suggestions on how high of CR these little engines like?
Thanks.
